2025 Art Calendar - A few left!

Dawn

I wanted to share a bit about more about this project. I have been creating these desktop calendars since 2019 and it's becoming something that I very much look forward to every year. Going even further back is my daily drawing practice which I have been doing (not perfectly mind you) since about 2008-9. The calendar allows me to share some of my favourite drawings from each year (like some of the ones I have shared earlier this year here) but better than that, it allows space for me to reflect on the work I have created; what colour palettes I am loving, style of drawing that is holding my attention and so on. Reflecting like this seems to be difficult these days with all the constant distractions so disguising it in a work "project" with a very clear deadline seems to do the trick.

I start by going through my sketchbooks (I usually have several of varying sizes on the go) and flagging my favourites. Those drawings I will then rework or resize to fit a 5"x7" space. Some were painted like this one below

The initial drawing from my daily sketchbook, where it started…

…then to small paintings where I further explored composition and colour

I reworked some digitally in photoshop and turned others into repeating patterns. All this to say I find the process really rewarding and I am very happy with how the 2025 art calendar turned out! I've included all the months below so you can see them all.

There are a few calendars left if you are interested (now discounted) - you can find them here.

Thanks for reading!
